Each year, senior dues are collected from the students in the graduating class of I.S.14. The fee for senior dues includes a graduation cap & gown, a 2019 school yearbook, a 2019 school tee-shirt, a drawstring book bag, a 2019 keychain, and a diploma case. This money is also used to offset the cost of graduation. It includes fees for balloons and decorations for senior activities and group assemblies (such as the Awards Ceremony and Arista/Archon), trophies and plaques, and the printing of the graduation programs. Senior dues also cover the cost of including your child’s photograph in the yearbook. This year the senior dues will be $90.

The full amount of $90 is due at any time before May 24, 2019.

If necessary, parents may make the payments in three installments.

Payment #1 of $30 is due by December 21, 2018

Payment #2 of $30 is due by February 15, 2019

Payment #3 of $30 is due by May 24, 2019

Payments must be made in the form of a postal money order or a bank check.

Make this payment out to I.S. 14. Personal checks will not be accepted.

Senior dues are required for participation in the graduation ceremonies. Any student who does not pay his/her senior dues will not be permitted to attend the graduation ceremony. Only those children who are graduating may attend the ceremony in June. If you receive a letter saying that your child’s promotion is in doubt, please refrain from paying senior dues. We will notify you if there is a change in your child’s status. Additionally, we will offer optional senior activities and excursions throughout the remainder of this school year. We will provide you with information about these additional activities during the following months.

These optional senior activities require additional fees that are separate from the cost of senior dues.

Good behavior is essential for student achievement and success. Suspension from school and/or poor behavior will jeopardize your child’s participation in all senior festivities including attendance at the graduation ceremony, the prom, the senior trip, and other senior activities. Children will need three 8th grade subject area teacher recommendations to attend the prom and to attend the senior trip. Children who do not have good behavior or cannot obtain the appropriate teacher recommendations will not be permitted to attend.

Very truly yours,

Ms. DeVito

8th Grade Assistant Principal
